Roses from Recycled Materials.

A nice decoration for Saint Valentine holiday. This Rose is made from plastic bottles. (1/14/2007)

 

This is a homemade craft using just spray paint, hot glue and recyclable plastic bottles, you can make this craft and obtain this nice decoration for Saint Valentine's day.¹

 

Material needed:

Spray paint (Red, Green and yellow)

Cutter or knife (is better to use a knife).

Hot glue.

Four empty recyclable plastic bottles. (Coke works better)

 

Instructions:

Wash the bottles, remove labels and dry it. Cut the bottleneck and the top part from each bottle.

 

 

Cut three bottles to make the petals as the blue lines indicates. Each one should have five petals. See photos.

 

 

Cut one bottle and divide it by five to make the leaves. See left photo. The right one shows how the petals looks like after painting it with the spray paint.

 

 

Glue the petals together using the hot glue and paint it with the red spray paint.

 

 

Using some plastic left from the bottles, cut one strip as the photo shows. The blue lines indicates how to cut. After finished, paint it yellow. It will be used as the rose's stamen.

 

 

Roll it and apply hot glue to put it inside the petals. You may need to hold it for a while.

 

 

Cut the bottom part of one bottle and paint it green, so it can be used as a base. Glue the flower to the base and the rose is ready!

 

 

The rose is ready. It can be use to decorate your table, windows or any gift for your friends and loved ones for the Saint Valentine celebration.

 

You can also make more of then and paint it with different colors to make a bouquet or using a vase. Your family and friends will be get a very pleasant surprise to see this craft made from recycled materials.
